2. Increase the torque function, the reducer is really a wonderful thing. At the same time of deceleration, the output torque of the motor can also be increased accordingly.
3. Reduce institutional inertia. Anyone who does research and development of mechanical structures knows that the inertia of equipment is a very annoying thing. If the inertia of a motion mechanism is not well matched, the stability, accuracy and life of the motion will be greatly affected. However, the choice of motors cannot be increased indefinitely because of inertia. In fact, many mechanical structure design engineers easily ignore the inertia matching of the motion mechanism, and never even consider this problem. This is a very invisible problem, and even the stability of many devices is caused by this problem.
4. Locking mechanism, the reducer also has a very important function, that is, the locking mechanism, such as the worm reducer, has a self-locking function. When its deceleration reaches a certain proportion, it can almost completely block the reverse impact of the motor mechanism on the motor, and even completely lock the movement of the entire mechanism. Of course, in the eyes of mechanical structure design engineers, many people think that all snail reducers have a stop function, but this is not the case. Even the worm gear needs to reach a certain reduction ratio to have the self-locking function.
5. Reduce production costs. Because the reducer has the function of decelerating and increasing torque, we can often make it into a "small horse-drawn trolley" transmission form, and use a low-power motor to achieve greater torque output, so as to achieve cost savings. But when using this, we must pay attention to the balance of the two parameters, that is, the balance of torque and speed. Do not slow down because there is no speed. Although great torque can be obtained, especially in the non-standard automation industry, many truss robots adopt this structure, speed and torque balance.
